Our hospital was established by Dr. H. A. Justus and was originally located on Spartanburg Highway when it was still a gravel road. It moved to its current location in the 1960s. In 1990, Dr. Zehr moved to Hendersonville and became an Associate with Dr. Justus. In 1994, Dr. Zehr purchased the hospital and began systematically upgrading and expanding our medical capabilities. In the late 1990’s we enlarged the reception area, added additional exam rooms, initiated a program of staff expansion and training, and added video endoscopy. Over the last 10 years, we have upgraded our x-ray equipment, added a laser surgical unit, received American Hospital Association accreditation, added state-of-the-art dental equipment and a digital dental x-ray unit. Our in-house laboratory now includes Heska benchtop serum chemical analyzers, a fecal centrifuge, EKG, and blood pressure machines.
We understand how important your pets are to your family, and we appreciate the trust you place in us. Our hospital has developed a Code of Professional Conduct based on honesty, integrity, and compassion. All our staff commits to this code. We know this, and our commitment to our clients and patients will carry HVH into the future.
