Veterinary Technician
Our practice is excited to add another Veterinary Technician to our team! We are an awesome team that focuses on keeping good communication and creating a positive work environment. We utilize our Assistants and RVTs to their full potential! We love celebrating birthdays with food for everyone! We will be moving into a new building this Spring! We are looking for an individual who is good at communicating, organization, and multi-tasking and ready to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 1 year of previous experience in veterinary medicine and is proficient at blood draws, placing IV catheters, X-ray positioning, monitoring surgery, dentistry, assisting in exam rooms, running lab work, and reading in-house cytology.
Hours of operation: Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri 7:30-5:30, Tue 7:30-8:00 pm; No weekends!
Pay range:
- Non-credentialed technicians: $17-$19
- Credentialed technicians $20-$22

Essential Functions:
- Able to perform basic animal handling and restraint
- Be able to accurately position for radiographs
- Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery
- Perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs
- Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights, as well as providing client education
- Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Assist in maintaining practice equipment
- Assist veterinarian in performing surgery
- Assist veterinarians in any other assigned tasks
- Maintain cleanliness of surgery suite, treatment area, and exam rooms for all surfaces
- Support DEA compliance as it relates to the role
- Any other duties as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Ability to work on weekends
- Previous veterinary medicine experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
- Practice OSHA safety techniques, including proper PPE
- Computer skills, MS Office applications, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 – $22.00 per hour
